The Royal Queensland Beer Awards supported by King Street and The Star Brisbane invites the top brewers from across Australia to compete for national recognition in prestigious brewing awards that have been hotly contested by the nation’s top brewers since 1875. All Australian brewing companies that are currently producing beer for commercial sale are eligible to participate in these celebrated beer awards that see brewers from across the country compete for prestige and prizes.
Featuring a dedicated team of brewers, beer writers and industry figures, this revered beer competition offers a comprehensive snapshot of the quality of Australian brewing and a trustworthy guide for consumers.
A $5,000 Lion Bursary is awarded to the winner of the Grand Champion Beer Trophy. The Lion Bursary is aimed at furthering the winner’s own knowledge and advancing the Australian beer industry. The winner will also have the opportunity to have their products showcased at the Brisbane Showgrounds and the Royal International Convention Centre.
Participants will also compete for The Star Entertainment Group Emerging Queensland Brewer which recognises a Queensland-based individual who has been brewing for three years or less for the outstanding contributions they’ve made to their brewery.
